At the February 11, 2025 Council Meeting, the council members accepted the resignation of our current mayor, Jerald Fogelson and declared a vacancy. The remaining council members then nominated candidates for mayor. There were 2 votes for Jon Olivier and 2 votes for James Jens. In the case of a tie, the Acting Mayor casts the vote to break the tie. The tie breaking vote resulted in James Jens being appointed mayor. The mayor position is a 2 year term, expiring at the end of 2026. James served on the council in the past and was mayor of Currie for many years. He also represented Currie as a County Commissioner. Thank you James for stepping up and serving Currie once again!
